Higher AHV contributions on salaries
from 1 January 2020

On 19 May 2019, the Swiss electorate adopted the AHV tax bill (STAF), which means that the tax reform will come into force on 1 January 2020.

The AHV contribution will rise from 8.4 to 8.7 percent. This will increase the AHV/IV/EO contribution rate from 10.25 to 10.55 percent. Employers and employees will continue to share contributions to the 1st pillar in half.
